Wu Qian Concert Success

On Friday 16 April Tricia was joined by some clients and staff at the Queen's Hall for a concert, by Wu Qian, sponsored as part of Tricia’s 25th anniversary celebrations.
The piano recital was the final concert of the Hexham and District Music Society's 2009-2010 season and was well attended.
This was a popular return to Hexham for Qian who had previously performed for the Society as part of the Sitkovetsky Piano Trio.

The programme opened with a Haydn Sonata before moving on to a collection of clever and descriptive short pieces by Schumann entitled Kinderszenen (Scenes from Childhood).
Liszt’s Hungarian Rhapsodies brought a change of tempo and style leading up to the interval, followed by Schumann’s subtle and warm Kreisleriana to end.
Qian came back on stage to enthusiastic applause to perform an exquisite Chopin Étude as a very enjoyable encore.

By all accounts this was a wonderful concert enjoyed immensely by all who attended!
