In addition to planning and advice, we also undertake certain checks to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the accounts. These include the review of payroll and CIS, VAT, debtors, creditors and the bank reconciliation.

We feel that undertaking these checks is becoming increasingly important as HM Revenue and Customs’ new penalty regime can expose you to significant costs, even when mistakes are innocently made.

Recently, during the course of our accounts production process for a client, we identified a number of unrecorded sales. However, our diligent approach also identified significantly higher expenses. This led to an overall reduction in our client's tax bill.
