Tricia is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of England and Wales ("ICAEW"). She trained with Grant Thornton, working in their small business department with secondments to taxation and insolvency.
Faced with an appraisal for partnership Tricia decided she wanted to retain her close involvement with her clients. Hence, taking six small clients with Grant Thornton's blessing, she set up Patricia J Arnold & Co in 1985.
Whilst growing the practice during the 1980s Tricia also ran a family retail business in South Wales - which was subsequently sold in 1996.
Tricia's experience, of both starting a business and the running and subsequent sale of a mature business, provides her with broad expertise in a variety of "real world" situations. This in turn gives her a strong empathy with her clients – enabling her to understand their frustrations at the increasing levels of bureaucracy involved in running a small business.
Since its inception, Patricia J Arnold & Co Ltd, as it now is, has grown organically to a total of 21 employees - not unsurprisingly the speed of growth has progressively increased as each of her children "left home" to go to university!!
