Tricia again sponsored Hexham Abbey Festival of Music and Arts in this its 61st year.
The 2013 festival ran from 20th to 28th September and a celebration of Benjamin Britten's music was the central theme in this, the 100th anniversary of the composer's birth.
As usual there were a variety of styles of music inside the Abbey where the beautiful surroundings and acoustics helped to enhance the experience and, on Saturday 21st, there were outside performances by local bands on the Abbey Flags.

Once again a team of stalwarts opted to brave the elements for the Kielder Challenge Walk, held this year on 7th September and with Met Office Yellow Weather Warnings threatened for that weekend it was a case of digging out the waterproofs and swimming goggles. However, the day dawned near perfect and with not a trace of cloud in the sky the team of 11 embarked on their own personal mileage challenges ranging from the whole 25.3 mile course to “whenever I feel I should stop”.
5 people managed to make it over the complete distance and the other 6 clocked up an impressive total of 90 miles between them.
A variety of sources contributed towards the amount we were able to give to The Calvert Trust Kielder and, after Tricia added the last few pounds to round the sum up, a cheque for £3000 was presented.
Thank you to all of the people who have donated either via the JustGiving website or directly to us here in the office. Thanks also to everyone who took part in the walk or contributed in any way. The amount will enable another 100 people to benefit from a night at The Calvert Trust Kielder and the staff members who visited there over the weekend will testify to the standard of the facilities.
Here are some pictures taken during the course of Saturday 7th September.
Tricia is a huge fan and a main sponsor of this delightful festival which runs from Friday 2nd August until Sunday 4th August. Judging by the standard of the rehearsal heard in St Andrew's Church in Corbridge on Friday afternoon visitors to the festival are in for a treat!
Tickets are available from the Box Office at The Queens Hall in Hexham or from Forum Books in Corbridge. Any unsold tickets will be available on the door 30 minutes before each performance.
More information is available at www.corbridgefestival.co.uk where a festival brochure can be downloaded.
Tricia was a main sponsor of this event, organised by Tynedale Lions Club and Tynedale Rugby Football Club, which took place at Corbridge in the middle of June. Tricia's beer 'Liquidity', brewed by Geoff Brooker, proved popular once again.
The event started 12 years ago and this year the attendance exceeded five and a half thousand people who had, for the most part, decent weather!
The beneficiaries are The Children's Heart Unit Fund at The Freeman Hospital, Tynedale Hospice at Home, Calvert Trust Kielder and Tynedale RFC Sports Related Charities and they will share in this year's fantastic sum of around £67,000, the highest amount raised by the event so far.
Well, we are gluttons for punishment and once again a number of the staff will be embarking on at least some part of the 25 mile Kielder Challenge on September 7th.
The last time that we entered this event a total of £2891 was raised through sponsorship and donations for the Tynedale Hospice at Home charity so we are hoping to raise a tidy sum for this year's charity, The Calvert Trust Kielder.
If you would like to help us try and beat the 2011 figure by making a donation you can do so direct via the Just Giving website or we will be delighted to receive donations here at the office which will be paid into our charity account.
