The Rotary Club of Tynedale held a fundraising golf event on Friday 11th September and 140 golfers turned up for a grand day out. Between them they stumped up £3665 towards Rotary charities.
Tricia supported the event by sponsoring the first hole and the Hexham Team are pictured below, in front of the Company's banner, at the first tee.
Tricia was particularly delighted to again be a major sponsor of this year’s Tynedale Beer Festival, held over the weekend of the 18th – 20th June, in this her 30th year in practice.
The organisers sprang a surprise by presenting her with an engraved tankard in recognition of her continued support and to mark this 30th anniversary. Tricia is pictured here receiving the tankard from John and Bernie.
Tricia congratulated all those involved with a fantastic festival and was particularly complimentary about the food both on the Sponsor’s Night and from the caterers throughout the event.
She said “Aren’t we all lucky to have such a convivial community-based local event that we can get involved with, hopefully we will top the previous year’s total of over £62,000. I am sure our continued support will have resulted in a fantastic outcome for the four charities –
This year’s festival has been heralded by the organisers as the best yet and they anticipate being able to distribute more than ever to the beneficiaries once the accounts have been finalised.
People at the festival still had the opportunity to enjoy a glass of Liquidity which was brewed by the late Geoff Brooker when Tricia first became a main sponsor. We all miss Geoff’s larger than life laugh and cheerful disposition but his memory lives on as this picture of Tricia pulling a half of Liquidity at the Festival shows and his beer creations can still be sampled at the Dipton Mill Inn so pop in and try a pint.
Although Tynedale Beer Festival, for which Tricia is a major sponsor, is the biggest in the area she also supports smaller local festivals including those at Ponteland and Haydon Bridge.
When the previous organisers of the Haydon Bridge Beer Festival decided against continuing Haydon Bridge United Football Club stepped into the breach with a renamed Haydon Bridge Festival and a smaller selection of beers than in the past. The Club are using the funds raised towards a defibrillator and to support the Stay Strong Stu campaign and the Cure Parkinson’s Trust. Tricia was delighted to sponsor the Big Lamp Brewery beer Sunnydaze and is seen here behind the bar.
The Ponteland Beer Festival, organised by Ponteland Rugby Club, took place in April and Tricia sponsored the Sonnet43 Brewery’s India Pale Ale offering.
As well as beer festivals Tricia is also a great supporter of local music festivals, including Corbridge Chamber Music Festival and Lanercost Festival to name but two. Usually this support is by way of advertising and, of course, personal attendance at the concerts. She is pictured here during the Lanercost Festival in June.
Congratulations to Tynedale Hospice at Home who raised £3,030 with their Christmas Raffle. We were delighted to donate a raffle prize in support.
